Psalm 83 and Islam

By Walid Shoebat

Before reading the below, please watch this video clip of Psalm 83 which depicts the events that are unfolding before our eyes!

I lived it (Psalm 83) during the Six Day War when, a few days prior, we were demonstrating in favor of Gamal Abd Al-Nasser the prime minister of Egypt who called for the destruction of Israel - and just within hours before the battle and before even a bullet was fired - we were shocked to see everyone fleeing. People piled up in cars or ran on foot across the Jordan River. Why? No one knows but, simply put, FEAR struck their hearts as Arab media announced that they were going to blow everything up so it was better for everyone to flee to Jordan.

Look at the verses of Psalm 83 carefully; they are SO ACCURATE and most people do not pay attention to each word:

"So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm." (v15)

There is only ONE element which caused Israel to win and it was definitely not their strength since the Arab armies were outnumbered 100 to 1 and 100 to 1 in weapons. The reason the Arabs lost the war was the fear factor.

Now in Psalm 81 there is an interesting verse:

"The haters of the Lord would pretend submission to Him, But their fate would endure forever " (v15)

So it's speaking of a people who hate God when they think in their mind that they submit to God. The word "Muslims" means "submitters to God"; Islam means "submission".

In essence, when one read Psalm 83:2 "For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head." What this is saying is that the enemies in this Psalm (Ishmaelites, Hagarites, Assyrians, Lot, Edom, and the people of Tyre) who think in their minds they submit to God, in reality are full of pride and indeed are haters of God.

Notice also that this prophecy is future - that the punishment would be forever; it would be at the end of days. So, in reality Psalm 83 has NOT been fully fulfilled; there is another event that must happen in order for it to be fully be fulfilled. Here are my reasons:

"That [men] may know that thou, whose name alone [is] JEHOVAH, [art] the most high over all the earth. " (Psalm 83:18)

The reason God will allow Israel to be victorious is one reason: to witness with tough love to the Arabs and Muslims. I am one of few who followed this verse, but five-sixths of the future armies will perish and the one-sixth remainder will recognize the God of Israel.

Notice on the clip they took great care to interpret the nations. This is why I love the clip; it's the first I've seen which included TURKEY. Look at it again.

Why did they do that? Simply put, Assyria included Turkey; not only Syria and Iraq. So we have a future showdown with Turkey when Messiah comes.

Listen: we had a Six Day War. This is significant and the church is asleep at the wheels. There is ONE day left to make it seven - the Day of the Lord. We will have a ONE DAY WAR which will be called "The Battle over Jerusalem" in which believers will fight. In all the context of the day of the Lord he has an army and a camp with bodies that cannot be destroyed. This is in Joel chapter 2: "...a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it" (v2) These are people, human beings.

"Though they lunge between the weapons, They are not cut down" - Definitely only once that a people cannot be cut down (killed) is in their glorified body state. On that day it's "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come." (v31)

And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp [is] very great" (v11) Who is this army? The people who have glorified bodies!

"...let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet." (v16-b) When will this happen? When we meet the Lord; where else will the bridegroom (Messiah) meet the bride?

"And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered" (v32)

I know of no one even looking at these things!

Now back to Psalm 83 - "Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna" (verse 11)

Messiah is compared to Gideon who is an interesting character; he represents the War Messiah. This story is documented in Judges 8: "So Gideon arose and killed Zebah and Zalmunna, and took the crescent ornaments that were on their camels' necks." (Judges 8:21)

This the Messiah will do as well. Look at Turkey and many Muslim flags, their symbol is what? A crescent moon. Look at every Muslim country and mosque - the crescent is at the highest point.

If you doubt what I am saying, then look at this verse which will put any doubts at ease; the clue comes from Isaiah:

"I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear...." (Isaiah 45:23)

This is the famous "every knee will bow", yet most Christians never study the rest. Look at two verses after that:

"Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle" (Isaiah 46:1)

What was on the beasts and cattle? Crescent moons. This will bow, and God calls it Bel.

One of the greatest authors of Islamic history is Arthur Jeffrey. Here are some of his quotes:

"Allah is a pre-Islamic name corresponding to the Babylonian god known as Bel".

Allah is the moon god of Babylonia - Bel. This symbol will bow. In other words all minarets with crescents on top will be taken down - to bow.

Mystery Babylon is NOT Rome as popularly thought or the Catholic Church, but Islam and Arabia. Do a search on Arabia in the Bible and see for yourself, then do a search on Rome and you will see about 15 hits with not one instance of a punishment.

Now, Galatians 4 has some interesting verses:

"Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Hagar."

"For this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia"

Why Arabia? Why does bondage, slavery, submission, and false faith come out of Arabia? Isn't submission [Islam] the same as bondage?

Because the author of Galatians was a prophet - he was predicting the bottom line. "So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free."

So I got out of Islam/bondage/desert/empty/hagar and I joined the free woman Sarah/Israel/Messiah!

Woman is always allegoric of a faith or a people. Israel is called a woman, we are called the bride, a woman; our faith in Galatians is described as a woman. Yet, they argue that "the woman riding the beast" is the Catholic Church because they honor Mary - a woman.

Nonsense.

Arabia is what was predicted all along and is what causes all the hell we live in. After all, didn't the Euro fall a bit as a result of Muslims causing havoc in France in early November 2005? Where did Islam come from - the BOND woman - Arabia. Don't all the kings of the earth sleep in bed with Arabia? Who is the most favorite harlot for President Bush - Arabia or Rome? What wine is the favored wine - the Oil of Arabia or the Pope's Chalice? Why would Evangelicals say that Rome is the harlot, then run to watch The Passion of the Christ produced by a Catholic with some Catholic dogma in it?

Now we come to the conclusion of the Psalm:

"That [men] may know that thou, whose name alone [is] JEHOVAH, [art] the most high over all the earth." (Psalm 83:18)

Look at that verse above carefully. Do you know what Muslims battle cry in every battle, victory, or demonstration is? Does the term "Allah Akbar" ring a bell? What does it mean? It means: "Allah is Greater". Greater than who? Greater than any God, especially the God of the Jews and the Christians. Allah Akbar means that Allah is the most high - the greatest.

This is blasphemy!

So, what is the essence of Psalm 83? It is verse 18, that men may know that only JEHOVAH'S NAME is the most high and NOT Allah.

Allah Akbar is a great blasphemy:

"And he [Antichrist] opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. " (Rev 13:6)

What is in a name?

"...they shall call his name Emmanuel," which being interpreted is, "God with us".

A name has an interpretation; it is significant - it's a title and not simply a name. Jesus' name is not Emmanuel per say, but it's a message - God is with us!

What do Muslims deny? They deny that God came to visit earth; they deny the Son and Father and the Holy spirit are all God - ONE GOD:

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. " (1 John 2:22)

Muslims are vehement in denying the attributes of the God of the Bible. As a matter of fact, the SOLE purpose of Islam is to supposedly restore God's attribute specifically to deny what Christians say about God - that Jesus is God, or part of the "trinity". This is the first issue every Muslim will argue over.

What does this mean? It means the Antichrist cannot be Jew since the Jewish faith does not deny Abba (Our Father), or the Holy Spirit (Ruach Ha-Qudesh)! In other words, the essence of this Psalm is that God will restore to the world His name and His essence, and His attributes where everyone will finally recognize His Name.

About The Author

Born in Bethlehem of Judea, Walid's grandfather was the Muslim Mukhtar (chieftain) of Beit Sahour-Bethlehem (The Shepherd's Fields) and a friend of Haj-Ameen Al-Husseni, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and notorious friend of Adolf Hitler.

As a young man, he became a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and participated in acts of terror and violence against Israel, and was later imprisoned in the Russian Compound, Jerusalem's central prison for incitement and violence against Israel.

In 1993, Walid studied the Tanach (Jewish Bible) in a challenge to convert his wife to Islam. Six months later, after intense study, Walid realized that everything he had been taught about Jews was a lie. Convinced he was on the side of evil, he became an advocate for his former enemy.

Driven by a deep passion to heal his own soul, and to bring the truth about the Jews and Israel to the world, Walid shed his former life and his work as a software engineer and set out to tirelessly bring the cause of Israel to tens of thousands of people throughout the world: churches and synagogues, civic groups, government leaders and media.

Walid's latest book is titled "God's War on Terror" available now.

The Origin of The Antichrist - Part II

By Ray Gano

Well this is another large 40+ page special OPEN issue of the PZ Insider Report.

Like the prior special issue addressing this debate, we are opening up this issue for all and enableing everyone to download this special PDF.

BACKGROUND

About a month ago Dr. David Reagan put out a “book review.”

What many people considered it actually, was a personal attack on some brothers in Christ.

READ NOW - Dr Reagan's Article >>>

After David Reagan’s Jan / Feb issue of Lamplighter was published, we provided space for the authors to refute what David said.

Joel Richardson as well as Walid Shoebat responded. Emails were sent to the other authors.

If you missed thier responces, you can read them here>>>

This past weekend I heard from Phillip Goodman, author of “The Assyrian Connection” asking me if I would include his response to David Reagan.

Like I have mentioned in the past, we at Prophezine try to be “neutral ground” where authors can come and present their views. We support the Watchmen on the Wall and promote many great ministries out there.

Rodrigo Silva who runs “The Beast from the East” website has also been involved with this discussion and the promotion of the “Eastern Leg” ideal. I have included his very well documented argument in support of the Eastern Leg of the Roman Empire in this special issue also.

All four of these men have gone above and beyond in showing factual, historical proof as well as very strong scriptural evidence in support of this ideal. They all have strongly and gracefully refuted Dr. Reagan’s allegations as well as what is appearing to be very poor research on Dr.Reagan's part.

Folks we can believe what we may, but when fact and historical documentation is presented, it is only right that we as watchmen on the wall honestly weigh this evidence. Not weigh it with some preconceived ideas, notions or teachings of man which in fact may be in error.

We must apply proper biblical hermeneutics, maintaining context and author intent.

I fear that there are those out there that refuse to look at the evidence in a honest light, but instead based upon what they have been taught, use that as the filter instead the Word of God, the Historical fact and proper interpretation.

We must strive for the truth, continually putting the theories into the fire and burn away the incorrect findings.

If we are not willing to truly examine the evidence, then all we become are just a bunch of “YES” men to teachers.

The four authors have presented strong enough evidence that being a watchman on the wall, it is my duty to examine it.

I am reminded of the following…

2 Timothy 3:1-7 (KJV) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Timothy 3:13 (KJV) But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (KJV) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

If we are not willing to examine evidence that is presented properly, we run the risk in falling into what Paul warned young Timothy about.

The blood of innocent is upon the hands of the watchmen, we must be diligent in our duties and ensure that what we are warning about is correct.

Daniel tells us that God told him to seal up the book till the end times where many will run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased. (Dan 12:4)

Folks, we are in fact living in the last days. I feel that God has been revealing the knowledge that was once sealed up.

The problem is; if we are not willing to justly and honestly examine evidence presented, then we will fall prey to the itching ears and deceitful teachers that Paul warned us about.

Me, I take my job seriously and I work hard to search the scriptures daily to see if what is being said is true.

I challenge you to do the same.

With that I am honored to present the following article is this special issue of The PZ Insider Report.

He Rides a Black Horse

By Ray Gano

In the last several months I have been seeing a drastic increase in the cost of food. Milk is sitting at $4.25 a gallon, Cheese has gone up $2.00 for a quarter pound block and butter is sitting at $4.65 a box.

Folks, we are coming to the end of the age. We are beginning to see the foundations that have been put in place, start to take effect.

During the tribulation we know that food will become scarce and the cost will sky rocket.

We read in Revelation 6:5-6…

Revelation 6:5 – 6 (KJV) And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Christ himself stated..

Matthew 24:8 (KJV) All these are the beginning of sorrows.

In this Christ was speaking of wars, rumors of wars, false Christ’s, earthquakes, famines, pestilences. He was speaking about now, the end of the age.

Matthew 24:7 (KJV) For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

When one does a study on this verse we learn that he is using verbiage which equates to that of a woman about to give birth, or the birth pangs as it is commonly stated.

Birth pangs do not slow down, ask any mother, she will attest to the fact that they increase in strength and timing. They get harder and more painful as well as coming more frequently.

That is exactly what we are seeing today, read on…

Forget Oil, the New Global Crisis is Food

BMO strategist Donald Coxe warns credit crunch and soaring oil prices will pale in comparison to looming catastrophe.

A new crisis is emerging, a global food catastrophe that will reach further and be more crippling than anything the world has ever seen. The credit crunch and the reverberations of soaring oil prices around the world will pale in comparison to what is about to transpire, Donald Coxe, global portfolio strategist at BMO Financial Group said at the Empire Club's 14th annual investment outlook in Toronto on Thursday.

"It's not a matter of if, but when," he warned investors. "It's going to hit this year hard."

Mr. Coxe said the sharp rise in raw food prices in the past year will intensify in the next few years amid increased demand for meat and dairy products from the growing middle classes of countries such as China and India as well as heavy demand from the biofuels industry.

"The greatest challenge to the world is not US$100 oil; it's getting enough food so that the new middle class can eat the way our middle class does, and that means we've got to expand food output dramatically," he said.

The impact of tighter food supply is already evident in raw food prices, which have risen 22% in the past year.

Source - http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=213343

In this article Mr.Coxe is pointing out the production of biofuel / biodiesel is one of his primary concerns. If you do not know, biofuel / biodiesels are produced by using corn, wheat, sugar beets, ect. Many of the grains and produce used to make biofuel / biodiesel is also the same thing we use to feed the livestock thus promoting a healthy food supply.

Living here on the Gano Ranch, we have seen this directly as well as having an effect on us as these prices go up. In fact this was my main topic for this week’s Prophezine’s This Week In Bible Prophecy Show.

Watch Now -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbDntNOq3G0

We have noticed the cost of our chicken feed going up and even our dog food, which is also predominately made from grains.

With the continued cost of rising livestock feed going up, the products such as meat, diary, poultry and eggs are also going up.

Soon the rule of supply and demand will impact us. But which demand will win out? Will the demand to run our machinery win or will the demand to feed our livestock win.

No matter what, in the end, we learn that food will become scarce.

We read in Revelation 6:6

Rev 6:6 (KJV) And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

John Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible states…

“a measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; "Choenix", the measure here used, signifies as much as was sufficient for a man for one day, as a penny was the usual hire of a laborer for a day as found in Mat 20:2; so a choenix of corn was allowed to each man in Xerxes's army for a day, according to Herodotus ; the same quantity for a day was given by the Romans to their shepherds and servants, and is generally said to be about two pounds; according to Agricola it was two pounds and a quarter.”

So we learn that a measure of grain is approximately 2 pounds and the cost for that grain will be an average day’s wage.

In 2006 the average hourly pay across the board was $16.31. If you add benefits the average was $19.57 per hour for non supervisory workers. To get yearly income figure you take approx 2000 hours per year per hour ($16.31 x 2000) and you come up with $32620.00 for a full time employee for a year’s worth of work.

Source - http://www.visualizingeconomics.com/2007/11/04/has-middle-americas-wages-stagnated/

We have 52 weeks in a year so if you minus 104 from 365, that gives you 261 days a person works on average. This is not counting vacation time. That comes to an average of $124.98 or $125.00 per day if you round up.

Now this is US Dollars, but you can take your countries currency and basically do the same rough math and come out with a figure that meets to your countries’ currency.

So what does this tell us?

For approximately two pounds of wheat, it will cost the US consumer approximately $125.00. The cost for 6 pounds of barley will also cost approximately a days wage or $125.00. Now this is during the tribulation. What prevents the price making a climb up as we draw closer to the end of this age? Here is an interesting side note about barley; it is what beer is made from. Pay attention later in the article discussing alcohol.

One other point to make, we also know that the population of man is also going up thus making the current supply and demand even greater.

In reading the second part of Rev 6:6 is says “see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”

The oil spoken of here was olive oil which was used in their lamps, to bath in, cook with but primarily it was used as an energy source. As for wine it was and still is a luxury.

In past articles I have pointed to Isaiah 5, the judgment of nations, as what will befall the United States as well as other nations that turn their backs upon God. But take note of what is spoken about here; we see greed, the cost of food going up and extreme drunkenness.

Isaiah 5:8-10 (KJV) Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth! 9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant. 10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of a homer shall yield an ephah.

Isaiah 5:11 (KJV) Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

In reading these verses, we see that man driven by his greed will work to possess all that he can. He will displace all others not caring for his fellow man. He will drive off from their lands all others, and take possession of all they can and all for themselves. We see also that the land will not yield properly. Here ten acres only yields one bath or approximately seven gallons of wine. It does not tell us why, but I bet it is through the continued overworking of the land to the point that the good earth no longer produces. Again greed and the worship of self are to blame.

We continue in Isaiah and see that man will rise up and begin his day early with strong drink and do this until the night.

These things are taking place today. We are sittng at the edge of the end of the age. In Revelation 6:5-6 God’s judgment befalls man. It will be worse than today, but today we are already seeing the foundations begin to stir.

Folks, time is at hand and Jesus is returning very soon for his bride. If you do not know the Lord, you will be left behind to face the tribulation. If you are left behind, the odds are against you and you will most likely die a horrible death. If you choose to come to Christ during the tribulation, you will see persecution by the antichrist who despises all man, but especially those who love God. In that case scripture says that you will give your head and be a martyr.

Who Do You Serve?

Jesus stated the following…

John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If you do not have Christ in your life, you will spend eternity in hell. This is a fact. It does not matter if you believe this or not, it is the truth spoken by Jesus himself. If your name is not written in the Lambs Book of Life you will go to hell for what you have not done and that is accepting Christ as your personal savior. To be placed in the Lamb Book of Life, you need to turn your life completely over to Him. Having “head” knowledge or “just believing in Christ” is not the same as having “heart” knowledge with Christ living in your heart. We know that even the devils believe in Him, where are they spending eternity?

James 2:19 (KJV) Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

We work hard at Prophezine to show that Bible Prophecy is coming to pass. Because of this fact, the Bible is true. Since the Bible is the true and inerrant word of God, there is a heaven and there is a hell.

If you claim the title of “Christian” then take account of yourself this day. Many claim the title, but we read in God’s Word that the title does not get you into heaven.

Matthew 7:21(KJV) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22(KJV) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23(KJV) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Who you serve will determine where you will spend eternity. If you are not serving Christ and a true child of God, then you are serving Satan and a child of the enemy.

If you are not 110% sure, then take account of yourself, your very life depends upon it.

1John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

THE DEBATE OVER ANTICHRIST

By Walid Shoebat

THE THREE CHALLENGES

Does the beast of Revelation involve Middle Eastern Muslim nations, is it exclusively European, or is it both? Some say the notion that Islam could play a prominent role in the coming revival of the Roman Empire is impossible, unorthodox, untraditional, the work of ‘Lone Ranger’ type interpretation, and even revisionist.. 1

The majority of American evangelicals believe that the Antichrist system must be exclusively European, yet this view is changing after the last few years with the rise of Islam.

So, could Islam play a role in this end-times scenario? You might think to yourself—so what? Why should we care? Well, why then did the Almighty give us Daniel and Revelations? Even better still — why did God give us all the Messianic prophesies regarding Jesus’ first coming? Careless followers that missed these ended up without salvation, regardless of whether they sacrificed lambs in the Temple or obeyed the law—when it comes to the issue of Messiah, they missed the most crucial event in history. All for not paying close attention to Bible Prophecy. And what about the second coming? Are we to be careless with respect to the evidence presented in the Bible? I am not saying that you could lose your salvation, but if you end up on the side of Antichrist, you never had salvation in the first place.

Yet today, the debate is brewing—what about the threat of Islam? Did the Bible warn us about it? Are we supposed to keep our focus exclusively on Europe ?

To shed light on the implications of such detailed evidence (which spawned countless challenges and questions) I decided to write God’s War on Terror regarding Islam’s involvement in end-times. Consequently, I get challenges daily, not only by Muslims that want me dead but also from Christians who are dogmatic about their views. Ironically, we have no record of any Christian minister killed for exposing the E.U. as the work of Satan, yet we have millions who gave their lives for standing up to Islam. So please allow me to alleviate some pressure and present you with only three challenges:

CHALLENGE 1: Did traditional Prophecy scholars teach that Europe is exclusively the Antichrist kingdom?

You might be shocked to know that the highest caliber commentators of old did not believe that Europe was the exclusive player in the End-Times. A revival of a Roman Empire never meant a revival of a European Empire.

Many of our best western scholars on Bible prophecy believed that Islam would be a major player and will revive in the end of days as part of this end-time beast. John Wesley interpreted the Iron in Daniel 2 as Islam (Works, 1841). Hilaire Belloc foresaw Islam‘s rise.2 Gregory Palamus of Thessalonica interpreted the martyrdom of Christians during the Great Tribulation to come from Islam. Josiah Litch interpreted Revelation as the ushering in of Islam.3 He even described the magnitude of Islam’s role being Antichrist to the extent of calling it the “general agreement among Christians, especially protestant commentators.” Cyril of Jerusalem (315-368 A.D) in his Divine Institutes believed that Antichrist proceeds forth from the region of ancient Syria 4, which today extends from Syria well into portions of Asia Minor ( Turkey ). Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem (560-638) and Maximus the Confessor (580-662) identified Islam with Antichrist and lived through Islam’s invasion of Jerusalem .. Maximus was also an important theologian and scholar of the early Church who helped defeat the Monothelite heresy referred to the Muslim invasions as “announcing the advent of the Antichrist.” John of Damascus (676-749) was another very important figure in the early church. In his famous book, Against Heresies, he identified Islam as the forerunner to the Antichrist. Eulogius, Paul Alvarus and the Martyrs of Cordova (9th century) believed Muhammad to be a false prophet and the precursor to the Antichrist. 5 Many are not aware that while Martin Luther, father of the Protestant Reformation, believed that the Papacy played the role of the spiritual harlot, he also believed that the Muslims were the Kingdom of Antichrist . 6

John Calvin interpreted Daniel 2 eastern leg as the Eastern-Roman Islamic Empire and that Daniel 11:37 applied to the Muslims. 7 Even Jonathan Edwards the great American congregational preacher, revivalist, and president of Princeton University , like Luther and Calvin, saw Islam as one of the premiere elements of the Antichrist Kingdom . 8 Calvin even interpreted Islam’s fall at the sound of the great trumpet 9 Islam falling at the sound of the great trumpet even carries Islam into the Great Tribulation and not as many of our contemporary prophecy analysts who allege that Islam must be removed prior to Christ coming.

Even Sir Robert Anderson, perhaps one of the best prophecy experts who unlocked the seventy weeks of Daniel, in his remarkable book The Coming Prince, insists to focus on the Levant (Eastern) parts rather than the Adriatic (West). 10

Countless other Bible commentators warned about Islam being the kingdom of Antichrist—Selnecker, Nigrinus, Chytraeus, Bullinger, Foxe, Napier, Pareus, John Cotton, Thomas Parker, Increase Mather, Cotton Mather, and George Stanley Faber. 11

Also added to the list is Rev. Professor Dr. Francis Nigel Lee who sums up the traditional view in his excellent work Islam in the Bible: “from the seventh century onward – [the two legs] would degenerate respectively into the Papacy (which progressively took over the West) and Islam (which progressively took over the East.” (p. 5)

Making Europe the exclusive body of Antichrist kingdom is not the orthodox or even the traditional view. Some insist that Antichrist is Italian since he comes from the Roman Empire, but Roman does not strictly mean Italian, just as Alexander the Great was Grecian, this does not mean Athenian—he was from Macedonia . Antiochus Epiphanies, another biblical prediction was Syrian not Athenian or Cypriot. Why then, when it comes to Antichrist, insist on an Italian ignoring the whole empire. Even Jesus insisted that Pergamum in Revelation 2:12-13, was the seat of Satan and not the gymnastically altered interpretation for an archeological relic that sits in Berlin .

While contemporary prophesy analysts trumpet the idea that the fourth composite of Daniel 2 iron metal as strictly European, traditionalist views differ. Dr. Matthew Henry comments: "Who is this enemy—whose rise, reign and ruin are here foretold? Interpreters are not in agreement. Some will have the Fourth Kingdom to be that of the Seleucidae and the ‘little horn’ to be Antiochus.... Others will have the Fourth Kingdom to be that of the Romans, and the ‘little horn’ to be Julius Caesar and the succeeding emperors, as Calvin says. The Antichrist, the Papal Kingdom , says Mr. Joseph Mede.

Others make the ‘little horn’ to be the Turkish Empire [Muslim]; so Luther, Vatablus, and others. Now I cannot prove either side to be in the wrong. Therefore, since prophecies sometimes have many fulfillments, we ought to give Scripture its full latitude (in this as in many other controversies)—I am willing to allow that they are both in the right.” 12

NORTH AFRICA

Most students of prophecy that ascribe to a revival of the Roman Empire ignore that North Africa (Phut) encompasses five Muslim nations historically part of the western wing of the Roman Empire, and already mentioned literally in several end-times references. In order for the exclusively European model to fit, the whole of this Muslim region must be irrelevant. So what part of the Roman pie do we slice off and what parts do we include?

CONTEMPORARY VS TRADITIONAL

So what happened? Why do we have such a variation between contemporary versus traditional? The problem began in 1981 when Greece joined as the tenth nation in the European Union and many sounded a false alarm that announced they unlocked the mystery and have the fulfillment of Revelation 17, all with its ten horns, to later be embarrassed when the European Union mushroomed into twenty some nations.

Instead of pulling back their books, these analysts ran back to the drawing board, not to confess their error, but to insist that the E.U. model must shrink to only ten.. They still chose to finagle with the theory. Some, like Arnold Fruchtenbaum, realized that this was wrong: “It has become common today to refer to the ten kingdoms as being in Europe only, especially the Former Common Market, now the European Union. But the text does not allow for this kind of interpretation. At the very best, the European Union might become one of the ten, but it could hardly become all of the ten.'' 13

According to Fruchtenbaum, the European model comprises only one tenth, a mere slice of the whole pie. Jamieson Fausset & Brown insist that, “the ten toes are not upon the one foot (the west), as these interpretations require, but on the two (east and west) together, so that any theory which makes the ten kingdoms belong to the west alone must err..

CHALLENGE 2: Besides the argument on whether Magog is Russia , can anyone cite any literal reference to a nation that God destroys in the End-Times that is not Muslim?

Only if you ponder this question can you grasp its magnitude. On one occasion during a lecture to a group of prominent Bible prophecy teachers in the Pre-Trib Prophecy Conference in Dallas, I asked this question and no one raised a hand to answer.

In frustration, I pointed to Dr. Randall Price, a known Prophecy teacher and asked him to respond, in which he pointed that when it comes to literal references there are none. Grant Jeffrey, another known author, once attempted to respond with Cush, not realizing that biblical Cush (a reference sometimes translated as Ethiopia) is defined in the Unger Bible Dictionary as a landmass south of Egypt . Today this will be Sudan and Somalia .

Grant Jeffrey chose one of the most fundamentalist Muslim nations as a response to find non-Muslim nations in end-times. David Reagan of the Lion and Lamb Ministries with frustration pointed to Mystery Babylon 14 ignoring that the crucial word in that question is “literal”. If Babylon is a response to cite any literal reference for a non-Muslim nation that God destroys, this would still support my view— Mystery Babylon is an allegoric reference.

CHALLENGE 3: In every portrayal of Christ’s return to the earth, is He not fighting a nation that today is Muslim?

The significance of this question is as follows —scholars are unanimous, that Christ’s second coming must happen after Antichrist appears on the scene. Christ’s mission will be to destroy Antichrist and establish His Millennium kingdom. The European Union model has the Muslim hordes destroyed before the Tribulation period. Yet the text shows that Messiah Himself deals with Muslim nations.

The next prophecy conference you attend ask, “Is Jesus on earth on the Day of the Lord?” Ezekiel tells us of that day, “For the day is near, even the Day of the Lord is near” (Ezekiel 30:3). Yet this is when “ Cush and Phut , Lydia [ Turkey ] and all Arabia, Libya and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt ” (Ezekiel 30:5). Other prophesies show these nations are cast into Hell, including Asshur – “ Iraq – Syria ”, (Ezekiel 32:22-23) Elam – “ Iran ” (Ezekiel 32:24-25) Meshech & Tubal “Asia minor— Turkey ” (Ezekiel 32:26) – Edom – “ Arabia ” (Ezekiel 32:29). These nations are punished for striking terror against Israel and the believers (Ezekiel 32:22-24 & 27).

Perhaps sharing a few from the volume of hundreds of prophecies of Jesus’ wars during the Great Tribulation can shed more light on the matter: “See Jehovah rides on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt . The idols of Egypt tremble before him, and the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them” (Isaiah 19). Does this remind you of the song “behold He comes riding on the clouds”? Yet rarely are we told that Jesus here is fighting Egypt —a Muslim nation.

Even in Christ’s judgment of the nations (Joel 3) He is fighting Muslim entities. “Now what have you against me, O Tyre and Sidon [Lebanon] and all you regions of Philistia [Gaza]” (Joel 3:4) It couldn’t be more clear! It was as if Jesus Himself was speaking directly to Hezbollah ( Tyre and Sidon ) and Hamas ( Philistia ), challenging them regarding their bloodlust against the Jewish people. Their fight against Israel is in reality a declaration of war on the King Himself.

In Isaiah 25:9-10 at the time of the Lord’s return, we have Christ fighting Moab “And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation. For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under Him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.” (Isaiah 25:9-10).

Even in Isaiah 63, scholars unanimously agree that He fights Edom ( Arabia )..

Are the Muslim nations in prophecy destroyed prior to the Christ’s coming? Will the Antichrist then establish his European rule? Can anyone find a verse in the Bible in which Christ fights and nations are literally mentioned which are not Muslim?

This is why many who exclusively see Europe as Antichrist insist on removing Islam from the scene prior to the coming of Christ. Since the Muslims still exist on earth upon the Lord’s return fighting against Him, their whole premise of an exclusively European Antichrist falls apart.

East vs. West – Who is Right - Wrong?

EAST vs. WEST - Who is Right and WrongBy Ray Gano

This is a SPECIAL PZ Insider Report - Fully open and completely downloadable here at the Prophezine website.

Folks, if you are reading this, you are probably a watchman on the wall.

I envision all of us standing upon that wall, our first and also last line of defense.

Every single one of us has a very important job to do.

That job is to sound the warning that Christ’s return is very soon.

We read in 1 Corinthians 13:12 “ For now we see through a glass, darkly;…”

All of us are in the service of the Lord. Some of us have more responsibility, and some have been given less. It does not discount that we are all on the wall, standing as the last defense, ready to sound the alarm.

We ALL see through the glass darkly.

None of us have the 100% answer of what lies ahead.

Yes we have scripture to guide us, but in the end, it is our faith that pushes us forward even when we do not know for sure what lies ahead.

When we as watchmen become overly confident in our position and become like the Pharisees of old, that is when a weakness in the wall develops. After that, the slippery slope is trod upon; pride, arrogance, ways of the flesh start to slowly consume. Then that part of the wall is no longer being defended and the enemy gains a foothold.

When this takes place, the watchmen start looking “IN” versus looking “OUT.” They forget to use critical thought, logic, and instead begin to lean upon their own understanding.

Folks, here at Prophezine I work hard to welcome all who stand upon the solid word of God. I feel that in these last days we must work together because our voice is dwindling. No longer is bible prophecy important to many churches today, let alone it being taught.

I strongly believe that we need to examine all plausible evidence, utilizing the proper rules of interpretation, critical thought and logic.

We must be good Bereans.

A couple of weeks ago Dr. David Reagan released his Jan / Feb issue of Lamplighter Magazine. In this he wrote a scathing article critiquing four books dealing with the eastern leg of the Roman Empire.

I found his article to be unfair and quite one sided. He leveled some serious personal attacks on several of the authors and gave little Scriptural support for his own views.

I believe Scripture should always be our final authority. In the Bible Prophecy world we must be humble enough to consider others view points as valid IF they can be supported scripturally.

I have read the books being critiqued and I know most of the authors being criticized, personally. I cannot more strongly disagree with what Dr. Dave Reagan has written. I can only hope that with prayer and time he will see how personally unkind his critique was.

I also consider Dr. Dave Reagan a friend and fellow watchman on the wall and if a similar unwarranted attack had been leveled against him; I would do the same thing I am doing for these authors. Many of my long time readers know this for fact, because I have done it before.

I am going to provide the authors a space to defend their position and also provide Reagan’s article in question. I ask that you as the reader be good Bereans and scripturally consider both sides of this argument. Most of you know where I stand on this issue.

If Scripture Fits, We Must Submit

By Ray Gano

With all that is going on in Israel and Gaza, I wrote an article last week titled “Israel Retaliates Against The Gaza

In this article I talk about applying proper hermeneutics and interpretation rules to scripture.

There has been much hubb bubb over a “NEW” theory which calls for Israel through the IDF to invade her surrounding enemies, win and rule the land. The author of the theories’ primary foundation is based upon Psalms 83.

The sad fact is that the author of the theory spins a great yarn, but I don’t see his theory as being plausible when one applies proper biblical hermeneutics or in common words, correct biblical interpretation.

The Rule of Authorial Intent

No reader has the right to impose his own ideas on the text. Scripture itself clearly teaches that the only meaning of a text is what the Holy Spirit intended when He inspired the human writer.

2 Peter1:20-21 (KJV) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

In other words, every text has only one correct interpretation. If two readers disagree on what it means, at least one of them is necessarily wrong. To go even further, we must consider that even both could be wrong.

But what is never wrong is the scripture itself.

How do we discover the one correct interpretation? We must consult the author Himself, that being the Holy Spirit. We must allow Him to teach us and not lean on our own understanding.

The sad thing is that we live in a time when the thinking of many people is “filtered” the idea that all truth is relative—that what is true for me may not be true for you and that there is no absolute truth.

So what happens is that if someone prefers to be doubtful of proper interpretation of Scripture, he or she will just go off and say "Everyone is entitled to his own interpretation," as if any interpretation is as good as another.

That is a major problem in today’s Christian world.

There is no absolute truth.

The only correct interpretation is the one faithful to the author, who is God and His intent.

Many mainline churches today are teaching that truth consists in the “experience” rather than in the facts.

The only truth that we have today is God’s Word. It is not what we experience, feel, think that matters.

All that matters is what God’s Word says and what His intent was when He said it.

Looking back at Christ’s time the teachers taught and quoted “THE LAW.” This consisted of both oral and written.

The written of course was scripture, God’s Holy Word.

The oral was the teachings of the rabbi’s down through the ages.

The problem is that more credence was given over the oral “law” vs. what God’s word says.

Why? There are many reasons, but one primary one is that many people did not have access to the written law, God’s Word. So the oral superseded the written many times.

In fact, we still see that today in Israel, many students don’t even know the written word, even though they have access to it. Instead they study the oral commentaries of the great rabbi’s like Rambam, Maimonides, Moshe Kordevero and others.

What is worse is that when they view the written law, it is through the lens of oral traditions vs. taking the scripture as the Word of God.

All that matters is the absolute truth found in God’s Written Word.

During the times of Christ, Jesus himself was very hard on the “teachers” who stood upon the “LAW” (the oral law… not written)

John 8:44-47 (KJV) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

In this Christ is condemned the rabbis because they stood upon the words of men and not the words of God. They went so far that they no longer even have the means to understand God’s Word due to the false oral blinders they have imposed upon themselves.

Their minds became hardened against God’s Word.

Because of this, they did not recognize Christ as God and refused to believe in Him.

The outcome is as Christ stated is that they served THEIR FATHER the Devil.

Christ told them the truth because He was and IS the truth. We forget at times that Jesus Christ is The Word of God because He is God.

John 1:1-5 (KJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

What has happened is that the light of the scripture, bible prophecy clearly stated that Christ was and is God. That he would come to earth in the form of man born of a virgin in a town called Bethlehem. Scripture clearly teaches this and it is crystal clear to us when we read it.

The teachers of Christ’s time did not comprehend this because they have leaned upon their own understanding, the oral traditions, and Christ himself said that when they heard God’s Word and the truth, they did not “hear” and understand it because they were not of God.

Their pride within themselves and leaning upon their own understanding prevented them from seeing God the Son standing right before them.

We as Christians know for a fact that Christ did fulfill the prophecies given to the Prophets thought the written scripture.

Therefore we know and profess that Jesus Christ is Lord and God.

Fast forward to today and we have forgotten Paul’s words.

In Act 17:11 we read the following…

Act 17:11 (KJV) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

This is a well known praise in which Paul was praising the Bereans because they did not lean on the “oral traditions” of man and went to the true source of absolute truth, God’s Word.

Folks, I am deeply concerned. I fear that we have forgotten to be good bereans and because of that we are leaning upon our own understanding. We are becoming lazy and instead of being students of God’s Word, we are becoming students of teachers who are students of teachers.

I say all of this because we have been lazy as Christians and I lump myself into this pile as much as anyone else.

Like the days of old when Christ first came to man as a man, many did not see Him as God because they did not heed the written Word, but leaned upon the oral traditions.

We who are living now in the last days and are awaiting His second coming, and like the days of old, we are in the same situation.

My gift the Lord has given me is to be a watchman on the wall. To the warnings to what I see standing upon the wall and looking outwards.

I fear that many of us have leaned upon the oral traditions and are not taking the time to really dig into scripture to see what scripture actually says.

Instead we say “ Oh so-and-so’s book says this and he did all the research, so it must be true.”

But does it?

How good of a Berean are we?

Do we search the scripture daily or do we lean upon our own understanding, experience, feelings, and self centered thoughts.

Do we lean on the oral traditions?

Or something worse, do we lean upon the oral traditions and then call it God’s Word?

A good friend taught me a very valuable lesson and that is to always read what scripture says in and of itself.

Apply the proper Biblical rules of interpretation.

What was the author’s intent and what did God mean to say?

I leave you with the Golden Rule of Interpretation…

When the plain sense of Scripture males common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning, unless the fact of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise.

Next week I hope to dig more into Psalms 83 and what it actually says. Many are asking and I feel a need to try to give a voice to the situation.

Get a jump on it now and read it as it is meant to be read and without the experience, emotions, feelings, and self centered thoughts.
