The Rubber is Meeting The Road

The demand is growing. Bad weather has taken its effect. NOAA has stated that due to the massive amounts of winter snow that has fallen this year, there is a very high probability of record floods in the central heartland of the US.
Last Thursday the UDSA came out and stated that even if the US has  great bumper crops, it still will not be enough to " refill razor-thin stocks" and in fact it could take several years to restore inventories to comfortable levels.
Even former U.S. President Bill Clinton struck a more cautionary tone on ethanol, which is created by using corn. He stated "We have to become energy independent but we don't want to do it at the expense of food riots,"
We as a nation are literally burning our food supplies up so that we can get from one point to another.
Pete Nessler, president of the brokerage FCStone LLC said "There are speculators involved... but we've had the perfect storm over the last two years, and if we don't have a great crop this year in the United States, we are going to have an even bigger storm."
The global food supply chain is stretched to the limit. Two weeks ago Mexico suffered one of the worst freezes in many years. The result was the destruction of 80% - 90% of the food crops. Many of these crops were destined to come to the US. sending prices soaring and sparking concerns about a repeat of food riots last seen three years ago.

For almost two years I have been trying to sound the alarm. Well, we are now coming to the point where the rubber is meeting the road. In the near future, the effects of all of these "perfect storms" will begin to play out. Now the good news is that the effects will not be as bad as in some other countries, but I do believe that we will suffer our own hard times. Thing is, this isn't a US problem, signs of the strain can be found from Australia to Argentina, Canada to Russia.
Scripture says…
Revelation 6:5-6  And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6  And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
Are we living in the last days? Yes we are. Are we in the times spoken about by the John? No, but I do believe that we are close.
Needless to say, we are facing times and events that this generation has not seen before. History is repeating itself like it did 75 years ago.
What people do not realize is that historically our nation goes into what I call a  time of chaos approximately every 75 years or so. So this is not the first time, nor is it out of the ordinary. But because our generation has not studied our past, we may relive the cycle of approximately 25 years of chaos.
We had the revolutionary war, which had its own issues and saw trials and tribulations. We often believe that when July 4th 1776 rolled around life was good and we were a great nation. Well we were and we did win our independence from England, but at a great cost. We suffered hyperinflation as well as food shortages due to the revolutionary war, French and Indian war, etc. The FIAT currency called a  "continental" was introduced and hyper inflated.
Fast forward 75 years and this nation goes down one of our histories darkest path, that of the civil war where brother turned against brother. One of the primary issues in this war was not slavery, the issue was the 10th amendment where government was dictating and regulating the states and her people into poverty. I am not talking plantation owners either even though the main focus from history is on this group. I am talking average middle class hard working people of that day, people like you and me.
Once again due to the war, food production was greatly reduced so shortages came about. Lincoln introduced the "green back" and hyperinflation ensued causing goods, services and food to be outside the reach of many people.
Forms of debtor prison,  were enacted due to so many people who were in debt and borrowed above their means.
Fast forward another 75 years and we see FDR enacting the "New Deal." It was prior president Hoover who destroyed the nation with the big banks and FDR took it even further. We did not see hyperinflation in this cycle, but we saw depression. The results though were the same.  Millions suffered, and many more even died due to the hardship. Unemployment numbers were through the roof.  Instead of too much money in the system, there wasn't enough. American families monthly average pay was reduced by 40%, from  the average approximate being $2,300 to $1,500.
Instead of advancement, survival became the keyword. Every family maintained a "Victory Garden" and living a frugal life became the norm.
Scripture says…
Ecclesiastes 1:9  The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
I am saying all of this because I believe around 2005 - 2006 we as a nation entered into the age of chaos that this nation has seen in the past.
I do believe we are living in the last days of the last days. But I do not believe that just because our nation is going through our standard cycles of historical hardship, brought about by our own bad decisions, that God is going to come down and rescue all the Christians and rapture them out.
So many people like to point to Noah and the ark as a rapture model. Noah never left the earth nor was he taken out of the storm. He  lived through the storm. He and his family were spared because he prepared, built his ark and was obedient to God.
Many point to Lot escaping the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah as a rapture model. Again, it was Lot's faithfulness to God that allowed him and his family to be spared from judgment. The judgment still effected him through the loss of his wife, who was turned into a pillar of salt for looking back. But, he and his daughters were spared. Lot continued to serve God as a righteous man and is named 1 Peter 2:7-8.
God was there and delivered these men, but Noah still had to build an ark and Lot still had to use his own two feet to get out of town.
Now please know, I stand on the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. I fully believe that we will soon see the return of our King in the clouds. I just don't know when, and to put a timeframe on that event is extremely foolish.
So those many Christians today who believe that God is going to come rescue them via the rapture, well I hate to say it, but that frame of thought is not biblical and in fact creates a dangerous attitude of complacency . Christ told us to occupy till He returns and to always be ready to share the gospel.
Folks, we are coming to a time in history where we as a nation will go through hard times. I say this not because I think I am some prophet or son of a prophet. I say this because three times before this nation has gone through hardship. History proves this as a fact. I do believe that much of what is going on can be pointed to as prophetic for the mere fact that Israel is now in existence and so much is going on in the middle east today. Where in the past that was not the case.
But I cannot say that we are where we are today is solely prophetic. We are operating with in the normal cyclical parameters this nation takes every 75 years or so.
 Let me remind you what King Solomon said.. "there is nothing new under the sun."  Man will continue to repeat history till the end of time. It is the sin nature that drives man and man will always seek out lust, greed, and self pleasure. It is these three things that always brings us to where we are today. With sin one always pays the consequences. It is the same with nations as well.
Spring is on the doorstep, I encourage all of you to plant a garden. I will be posting articles in the PZ Preparedness area on this. Prepare your cupboards now, food prices will continue to rise.

We Are Family, We Need To Obey

A few weeks ago I put out an article titled "Law, Grace and God's Word" (http://tinyurl.com/gano-law-grace). For many it was well received. But there are those out there that once you mention God's Law, they go into massive fits stating that the law does not pertain to them and they are not under the law.
I had one person say "Jesus fulfilled the law and set it aside, nailed it to the Cross, and didn't resurrect it."
Another … " The LAW of CHRIST fulfills the laws of MOSES ! The old testament was in PART !the new testament which is JESUS CHRIST @!Started after He died on the Cross !Refusing to accept this! I feel refuses JESUS CHRIST! and it Not what I say! It what the BIBLE says!"
Jesus is God
What many fail to realize is that Jesus is God.
John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Just because man created the old and new testament as a means of organizing God's Word, it does not detract from the fact that ALL of the Bible is God breathed, God Inspired, the infallible Word of God.
Paul's instruction to Timothy and to us was to "Preach The Word."
2 Timothy 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Now, the scripture was not canonized at this time, so what "word" was Paul telling Timothy to preach? All that early church could point to was the old testament AKA the Massoretic text which is still in existence today.
Paul also understood that The Word was the complete Word of God, not just the old testament but also the new.
Keep My Commandments
Christ said
John 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Again, there was no canonized scripture when Christ said this, only the OT / Massoretic text.
The problem today is that people refuse to submit to the Whole Word of God. People like to pick and choose and I understand that, I do the same thing at times. But more and more God is working within me to change me from the inside out to conform more in the likeness of Him and less in the likeness of the sinful man that I am.
Over the years I have learned that I must submit to the whole word of God, and not just pieces. Why? Because I love Him.
Rules of The Home
Let me ask this. To all of you who have children, do you just let your kids run wild or do you have rules in your home? Do you allow them to do as they please all in the name of love?
Odds are that you do not. In fact you probably have rules in your home not because you are trying to be some ogre putting your children under the thumb, but because you love them and wish to keep them safe from all the evil this world has in it.
It is the same way with God.
Now let me ask this. Say you have children, but you adopt more kids into your family. Do you allow the adopted children to live as they please or do you make them conform to the rules of the home?
More importantly do you make your own children adhere to the house rules and the adopted children  conform to another set of rules just because they are adopted?
Odds are that you would make ALL the children adhere to all the same rules of the house. Why? Because you want order in the home, peace and tranquility. But the primary reason is that you love all your children and you want the best for them and you want them to be safe and sound and well balance human beings.
We are adopted into the family of God, through the root of  Abraham. Like our parents here on earth, our Father in Heaven is the same way, He wants order, He wants to keep us safe and He wants the best for us. But to do that, we need to submit to His Word, His rules, His Law as best as we can.
We Are Abraham's Heirs
Scripture says…
Romans 11:16  For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
Romans 11:17  And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Romans 11:18  Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Here Paul is telling the Romans (gentiles) that they are graffed into the root, thus making them part of the family of Abraham.
He is also telling the Romans, gentiles.. us, that it is the root, Abraham, that bears us and not the other way around.
It is by grace we are brought into the family of God. It is by grace we are loved and are given entrance into the holiness of the Father.
We are saved by grace through the gift of our Lord Jesus' blood that was shed on the cross.  He purchased our lives with His blood and adopted into the family of God.
Like the adoptive parent who chooses the child, God chose us to be one of His. Could we have ignored the calling? Yes we can, that is our free will choice. But becoming a Christian does not end here, this is just the beginning.
We can never pay back what Christ did for us, but now that we are part of the family of God, there are rules that we are called to obey. Just like our own families, God has called us to also be obedient to Him.
Why?
Because He is our Lord and Savior, and it is our reasonable service to give our ALL to Him. Not because we are earning our salvation, that is impossible. We serve Him with our all because He purchased us with His blood. He chose us and it is our reasonable service to obey His commandments.
His Commandments are His Word and His Word is His Commandments. There is no separation
We are the adopted Children into the family of God, which make us His children. Therefore we are called, just like His "natural" children Israel, to be holy, live a holy life and to walk according to His Word. We do not use the grace given to us to live a carnal life in sin. Like any child we need to strive to please our heavenly father like we strived to please our earthly parents.
We do this not because obedience is what gets us into heaven. We obey His Word because we love Him and the sacrifice He gave just for us.
Living In The Law Through Grace
Now,  can we live up to all 300+ laws? There is no way that we could. But what God does in our lives is changes us slowly. Over time we are molded like the potter molds the clay to become more in His likeness and less in the likeness of the evils of the world.
God's law is there because He loves us and wants the best for us. Now is ALL the law for us? No. There are laws governing the Levites, Government, Leaders and such. Now if you are part of these groups, then you do fall under these laws. But for the common Christian it is the laws pertaining to the daily living of a just and holy life that pertain to us.
For example, Thou shall not kill (murder).
 Why do we need to obey this law?
Well for one to break it will bring serious consequences both from God and from society. The odds are also good that that if we do murder, we will pay with some heavy consequences and quite possibly with our life.
So do we rebel against Gods law, go out and go on some mass murder spree?
No, the best thing to do is simply obey His law not to murder. 
There are other laws that God put in place to protect us from harm and even disease.
Here are some examples…
Deut 14:8  And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
Well come to find out that to eat pork, one can get Trichinosis. Trichinosis is a parasitic (worms) disease caused by eating raw or undercooked pork.
Of the larger livestock breeds pork also spoils very quickly. When one slaughters it, they must be quick about it, keep the meat cool and then work on it instantly, preserving it. That was basically impossible to do in biblical times and if you ate pork, often you paid the price of getting Trichinosis or some form of food poisoning.
Here is another example that is found in Leviticus 11:10…
Lev 11:10  And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
This is the famous "thou shall not eat shrimp" verse that the homosexuals like to pull out when talking about an abomination. The problem is that when one consumes these items, it is an abomination unto one's self, not unto God, where Sodomy is an abomination unto God.
But why this example?
It has been recently discovered, in the last 20 years or so, that shrimp and other items like this are high in cholesterol. Cholesterol is one of the major causes of heart attacks.
There are other things also, mercury and other poisons that are absorbed into the animal's flesh due to their diet. These are then passed on to us and stored in our body. Over a period of time these can have an effect on us physically. The cholesterol is high in the meat itself.  But due to the fact that shrimp and other crustacean are "carrion" feeders / bottom feeders, they are exposed to poisons and disease.
"Carrion" Feeders / Bottom Feeders?
This means that when something dies, it sinks to the bottom of the sea, lake, or river floor, and it is the crustacean that feeds upon the dead and rotting flesh. It is this feeding on the dead that causes other poisons, heavy metals to be absorbed into the crustacean meat and once we consume their flesh those poisons then enter into our systems. 
Now to expand on this let's look at an example.
The Ganges, which is a river in India is viewed as a very sacred river; it is held in high spiritual esteem by many of Hindu's faithful. When one dies, It is a great honor to have one's dead body to be set adrift upon the Ganges and it floats downstream till it lets out in the Indian Ocean.
It is a well known fact that at the mouth of the Ganges where it lets out into the ocean is one of the largest populations of rock crabs. These crabs grow very large in size and have a special taste to their meat, it is said to have a very sweet taste. There is a famous Singapore/Malaysian dish called "Chili Crab" made from these types of crabs and is quiet the delicacy in these areas.
Why do these crabs grow so large and have a special taste? It is due to what they feed on. Thousands of human bodies rotting at the mouth of the Ganges River. Can you imagine what these people died of? Think of the disease that is in the water just from these dead bodies?  All of these things are ingested by these very large rock crabs.
Now let me ask you. Is it a bad thing to observe this law that God put in place or should we go off and eat a boat load of crab caught at the mouth of the Ganges River?
"Oh Ray, those are crabs over there, we don't have dead humans floating around here."
Well that is true, but no matter what crustacean feed upon the dead. Can one still eat crab, shrimp and other crustacean?
Yes you can, and the odds are that nothing will happen. But when we choose to step outside of the Law of God, there are consequences and you are taking a risk. That is a fact. Kind of like playing "Russian Roulette." It only takes one bad crab to mess up your whole day, or life.
It is kind of like speeding down the freeway fifteen miles an hour over the limit.  Odds are that you will not get a ticket. But there is always that chance that there is a police officer sitting there in the distance shooting his radar gun and pegging people for speeding.
There is also the chance that you can get in an accident, that if you were not speeding you could have reacted quicker and possibly avoided the accident.
 It isn't until it is too late that you realize that you will be paying the consequences for breaking the law.
How could you have avoided getting the ticket or accident? Simple, live within the  confines of the law and not speed. How hard is that?
It is the same way with God's Law. God chastises his own and the law is there to protect us as well as set us apart from the evil of the world.

If you can sin and not weep over it, you are an heir of hell. If you can go into sin, and afterwards feel satisfied to have done so, you are on the road to destruction. If there are no prickings of conscience, no inward torments, no bleeding wounds; if you have no throbs and heavings of a bosom that cannot rest;... when you know you have done evil, you are no child of God. C. H. Spurgeon
We are adopted into the family of God and into the root of Abraham. We are called to obey and submit to ALL of God's Word, not to pick and choose as well see fit.  The key is that we cannot do this alone and it is only through the unwarranted grace and help of our Father in Heaven that we are able to walk the path of becoming more like Him and less of the evil world which we were once part of.
It is His Grace and His Law that loves us and protects us. It is also His Grace and His Law that sets us apart, holy and acceptable unto Him.
Transformed By The Renewing of Your Mind
Scripture says…
Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
 How we renew our minds is through God's Word, learning it, placing it in our heart and living it because we Love our Lord. As a result of us truly loving God we naturally desire to obey His commandments.
Jesus is The Word, the beginning and the end, the alpha and omega. He is the Creator and Savior. It is His Word that created all and His Word that will judge all.
It is also His Word that we are called to submit to.. all of His Word, that is if we truly love him.
Christ makes it clear that it is by our fruits that we will know who does and does not love God.
Mat 7:20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21  Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
In fact Christ makes it very clear that there are "few" who will find the true path that leads to life.
Mat 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
So do obey His Commandments because you love Him?
 Or do you make excuses, twist, cherry pick, and split hairs regarding God's Word because deep down you refuse to submit?
Christ said…  If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15)
Do you love Him, or is it all just talk, works and a lot of hot air?

Law, Grace and God's Word

Been having a really nice email session with a new reader and the topic of the law came up.
I responded to him explaining how I stand regarding the law vs grace and I thought that I would share it with you.
See, there is no "one" law we must observe or 10 commandments. All of God's Word is just that, ALL of God's Word.
But here is something we often forget, Jesus is the Word, God's Word because He is God, the Creator of all.
Scripture says..
John 1:1-4  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2  The same was in the beginning with God. 3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Therefore, if we truly love the Lord, we will obey all His Word. Why? Because He is The Word.
See, without grace, all one is who observes the law is a Pharisee. The law and grace go hand in hand. Can we obey all the law 100% of the time? No we can't, but it is thru grace that God changes us from the inside out. This is called sanctification. But no matter what, we should try to follow the laws that God put before us to follow? Why? Because He put them there for our protection and benefit.
Just like speeding and "J" walking laws are there to protect us, God's law is there to benefit us as well. Our problem is that we have that rebellious sin nature within us and we do not want to submit. So we fight, make excuse, skirt the edges, etc, and rebel against God.
Do we love Him? If we do, then we need to die to ourselves and submit to Him, pick up our cross and follow Him.
So we need to stop looking at this law and that law, we need to know His Word, because the more we know His Word, the more He lives within us, changing us more into the likeness of Him, discarding the old man and thus being built in His image.
If we love Him, we will obey, and when we do not, He chastises us for our own good.
Now do I force the law on others? That depends on what is taking place. If one is committing murder, adultery, theft, etc, yes this needs to be stopped and one has an obligation to voice the error. When one is breaking laws that also effect others, then that needs to be corrected.
But overall the road to sanctification is an individual road. God works in each of our lives according to what He deems that we need.  
Example, at a time in my life I used to smoke. Because God had worked in my heart and my life, I no longer do it nor have the desire. What happened is that the day finally came where I submitted to God with this issue, I really repented and turned away from the sin. Do I go forcing others to stop smoking? No, because I do not know how God is working in that person's life with that issue. Now I do share what scripture has to say, and my experiences with the sin, but I do not tell folks they MUST OBEY or burn in hell because they are smoking.
That is where grace comes in.
Scripture says..
1Co 6:9-11  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
All of us were filthy worms, but it is God's grace and His blood that have covered us before God. Because of that shed blood we are made anew before Him. We have chosen to repent from our wicked ways and now serve Him.
But there are many in the church who still live this life, making grace a license to sin and continue to live a carnal life.
Mathew 7:20 says…
Mat 7:20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
If these people look like the world, act like the world, loving the world, they do not love God.
Their fruit shows to whom they serve.
1 John 2:15-17  love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
James 4:4  ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
The problem is that we have forgotten that we serve a holy God and scripture says "Be Ye Holy for I am Holy."
We do not separate ourselves from the world, but revel in it all the sin and revelry all in the name of grace.
God's Word tells us to be separate from the world.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

1Co 5:11  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no not to eat.
But do we?
Here is how we are we to live…
Rom 12:1-2  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We are called to live a holy and acceptable life unto Him.
Why?
Because He gave His all for us so that we might have life with the Father. It is our reasonable service that we dedicate all our lives to Him.
In dedicating our lives to Him means that we do the best we can to know His Word and then  obey all of it. Not pick and choose like we all do.
We must submit to His word even if we do not like it and even when we want to "buck" against it. Because God knows what is best for us and that is why He put the law there so that through His grace we can love and obey Him.
The main key in living a holy life is by the renewing of our minds. How we do that is by knowing, learning, and allowing God's Word to live within us.
We do this by spending time in God's Word, thus having fellowship with Him, the Creator of the world.
For in the beginning was The Word and The Word was God. The Word and God are both one in the same. When we know God's Word, we know God, and when we know Him, His Word lives within us. Thus transforming us into a light unto the world so that we might share the gospel of the risen Son of God with the world.
It is all cyclical, or circular. But it begins with something very simple.
John 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.
In other words, it comes down to admitting that you are a sinner in need of a savior and then submitting to Him asking Him into your life.
One has to be lost before they can be saved.
Do you love Him?... Really?
His commandments are all of His Word, for the Word is God that was made flesh.
If we are Christians we choose ALL of God, therefore we must accept and submit to ALL of His Word.
The two are one in the same because God's Word declares it.
Christ said " If ye love me, keep my commandments."
So, who do you serve?

The Mystery of Rosh Pt 2

In part one I show where Gesenius named Von Hammer as his "historical" source in naming Rosh as "undoubtedly Russia." That is a pretty dogmatic statement when we find that Von Hammer was really nothing but a pulp fiction author. I also show that this whole "Rosh" idea is actually inspired by the Islamic Koran and in fact Gesenius gives the Koran the credit in his own lexicon.
 But in our journey to discover the  truth, we uncovered yet another problem.
The idea of Rosh is based on the Septuagint. In fact you can tell if a bible is based on the Septuagint by looking at Ezekiel 38:2
Septuagint – Eze 38:2 - Υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ Γωγ καὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Μαγωγ, ἄρχοντα Ρως, Μοσοχ καὶ Θοβελ, καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ᾿ αὐτὸν

Prior to King James and his Authorized Version we had the Geneva and Bishops bible that were the mainstay of Christian scripture.
The Geneva 1587 AD Bible states Ezekiel 38:2 and the following…

The word for Rosh in the Hebrew occurs in the Authorized King James 598 times throughout the OT; and it is always translated as a title.

Nowhere in scripture is Rosh referenced as a land, an area, people or tribe.
Eatons Bible Dictionary states the following:
Rosh
(Eze_38:2, Eze_38:3; Eze_39:1) is rendered “chief” in the Authorized Version. It is left untranslated as a proper name in the Revised Version. Some have supposed that the Russians are here meant, as one of the three Scythian tribes of whom Magog was the prince. They invaded the land of Judah in the days of Josiah. Herodotus, the Greek historian, says: “For twenty-eight years the Scythians ruled over Asia, and things were turned upside down by their violence and contempt.”
Strongs Exhaustive Concordance states the following about Rosh

Why doesn’t the Authorized King James, The Geneva and the Bishop’s Bible not contain the ROSH proper noun? Instead it maintains the proper hermeneutical use of the Rosh adjective meaning Chief.
Why? Because they are not based off of the Septuagint.
So what is the Septuagint?
It is a translation of the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek that is believed to have been translated around the third century B.C.

Upon the death of Alexander in 332 B.C., one of his four generals, named Ptolemy Lagus, took over Egypt as King. He crowned himself Ptolemy I Soter which literally means "Ptolemy the Savior". It is Ptolemy who built the Great Library of Alexandria, the center of knowledge, but more than that, it was the home of Gnosticism.
Once Ptolemy died, Ptolemy II Philadelphus (r. 285-246 BC) continued his father’s legacy. In his effort to make the Great Library the best center of learning in the known world, Ptolemy Philadelphus sought to translate the Old Testament from Hebrew into Greek. The problem was that his staff found Hebrew to be a difficult language to understand, and they were not sure of the many phrases or meanings found in the Hebrew text. So Ptolemy appointed a team of Gnostic seventy scholars, each fluent in Hebrew and in Greek, and assigned to them the task of translating the Hebrew text. Legend has it that he had 72 scholars who translated the Septuagint in 72 days, thus the Roman numeral abbreviation of LXX or 70.
Here lies the problem, it was these Gnostic scholars who translated the Hebrew text into the Greek.
What is Gnosticism?
It is based off of the Greek word gnōsis, which translates to knowledge.
Gnosticism is a diverse, syncretistic religious movement consisting of various belief systems generally united in the teaching that humans are divine souls trapped in a material world created by an imperfect god. In the days of old, they pull both from Christianity and Judaism and formed it into a mysterious hodge podge of esoteric beliefs. A close modern day equivalent is the Theosophical Society founded by Madame Helena Petrova Blavatsky. Like the Gnostics of old, they are seekers of knowledge as well as followers of the “Bearer of Light” (knowledge) Lucifer.
It is these Gnostics that while translating the Septuagint from Hebrew to Greek added to the text as well as left out script. It is noted that the Alexandrian School is recognized as one of the greatest sources of corruption, and it is the  Alexandrian influence which permeates some of the oldest manuscripts, The Septuagint being a primary along with Vaticanus B, Sinaiticus Aleph. A side note, the Septuagint also contains the un-canonized books of the Apocrypha which is not found in the original Hebrew either.
For those who will say that the original 1611 KJV included the Apocrypha, The King James translators knew the Apocrypha was not scripture, so they placed it BETWEEN the Old and New Testament as a HISTORICAL DOCUMENT, not as scripture.
It should be known that the Septuagint is not inspired and is a not a preserved text of scripture. Christ as well as the apostles did not quote from it, even when it was suppose to be in existence during their life time.  The very fact that the Septuagint’s history and Gnostic character should be proof enough to give one pause  for thought. 
The light cannot have anything to do with the dark
Scripture says…
Luke 11:36 (KJV)  If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
Jack Moorman in his book “Forever Settled” observes:
“The original LXX version of Job was much shorter than the Hebrew; it was subsequently filled in with interpretations from Theodotion. Proverbs contains things not in the Hebrew text at all, and Hebrew sentiments are freely altered to suit the Greek outlook. The rendering of Daniel was so much of a paraphrase that it was replaced, perhaps in the first century AD, by a later translation (generally attributed to Theodotion, but differing from his principles and antedating him), and the original LXX rendering is nowadays to be found in only two MSS and the Syriac. One of the translators of Jeremiah sometimes rendered Hebrew words by Greek words that conveyed similar sound but utterly dissimilar meaning” (Moorman, Forever Settled).”
Dr. Donald Waite author of  “The Defense of the King James Bible” summarizes:
“It can be clearly seen ... that the Septuagint is inaccurate and inadequate and deficient as a translation. To try to reconstruct the Hebrew Text (as many connected with the modern versions are attempting to do) from such a loose and unacceptable translation would be like trying to reconstruct the Greek New Testament Text from the Living Bible of Ken Taylor!!” (Waite, The Defense of the King James Bible)”
 The Septuagint and modern translations based upon the LXX translates the Hebrew word Rosh in all its uses by the Greek word "Ros" or "Rhos" as a proper noun of a people and a place.
The Septuagint is a questionable document and it is one of the “smoking guns”  where the whole Rosh = Russia paradigm originate. Both the American Version and English Version both utilize the LXX as a primary document. Both of these versions were also brought into existence around the late 1800s, early 1900s.
It is these modern versions having the “Rosh” error, coupled with Gesenius’ work amplified the Rosh = the Russia paradigm and cast the whole idea into what has become hard…concrete… doctrine.
The Septuagint - Proper Interpretation – Rules and Hermeneutics
The Authorized King James Version, the Geneva and the Bishops all allow for the Golden Rule of Interpretation, The law of recurrence, and the rule of a text apart from the context is a pretext.
The use of the noun “the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal” found in the modern versions does not.
Let's examine this for a moment.
There are established rules of interpretation. These rules apply to all scripture, including the prophetic pages like we find in Ezekiel.

The Golden Rule of Interpretation…
“When the plain sense of Scripture males common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning, unless the fact of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise. “
In other words, this law states that ALL biblical passages are to be taken exactly as they read unless there is something in the text indicating that it should be taken some other way than literally.
I go back and remind you that “Rosh” in the Hebrew occurs 598 times throughout the OT; and it is always literally translated as a title when dealing with a person. The defenders of Rosh as a people or place do not observe that.
Next is the law of recurrence.
 This law describes the fact that in some passages of scripture there exist the recording of an event, then it is followed by a second recording of the same event but with more or less detail.
In fact Ezekiel 38:1-23 and 39:1-16 is an excellent example of the law of recurrence.
Ezekiel 38:1-23 gives a complete account of the invasion of Israel from the north and the subsequent destruction of the invading army. This is followed by the second block of scripture, Ezekiel 39:1-16, which repeats some of the account given in block one with added details regarding the destruction of this invading army.
Often readers see Ezekiel 39 as a continuation of 38, but in fact it is repeating the story from different prophetic vantage points.
In both cases Rosh is not used as a proper noun for a people or place, but in fact support the Rosh adjective meaning chief, leader, head, ect.
The defenders of the Rosh=Russia paradigm often point to the NASB, AV,EV, RSV, ect as their proof but ignore the fact that all of these are based upon questionable error prone text found in the Septuagint.
Finally, a text apart from the context is a pretext
A verse can only mean what it means in its context and must not be pulled out of its context. When it is pulled out of context, it is often presented as meaning something that it cannot mean within the context.
As I have shown “Rosh” in the Hebrew occurs 598 times throughout the OT; and it is always translated as a title. The defenders of Rosh as a people or place do not observe that and in fact ignore the context of “Rosh” being “Chief, leader, head” and replace it with people.
I ask again, if this is the true use of the word Rosh, why didn’t God make that clear?
Why is Rosh seen as Chief, Top, Leader, ect 598 times in scripture but for this one and only time found in Ezekiel 38:2 - 3 all of a sudden it is a people or a place?
The defenders of the Rosh = Russia Paradigm are blatantly disregarding this rule. The verse clearly shows and stands for Chief, leader, head. That is the context that is clearly presented.
Let's take it from another angle.
The Hebrew word s being used are "nish" "rosh" which equals "prince chief" when literally translated; this is how the original Hebrew (Massoretic text) renders this.
"Nish" "Rosh" clearly does not equal Russia.
But the defenders of the Rosh = Russia paradigm stand on the wording in the Septuagint, which is a Greek Translation of the Hebrew.

The term "Chief Prince" clearly works well when we translate Hebrew into English. The context properly conveys a strong leader of leaders within the nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38. He is the “head”(rosh) of a confederacy which goes against Israel. 
In the original Hebrew (Massoretic Hebrew Text) we see the accents of "tiphha and Zaqeph-gadol. Now for those of you with Hebrew knowledge you should note that the Tiphha appears under the resh of the Hebrew word - 'rosh'; while the Zaqeph-gadol appears on the top of the sin of the Hebrew word 'nish' (nasi).
So what does this mean?
Whenever the Zaqeph-gadol accent appears, it is always used in connection with a pause.
Are you lost yet? Stay with me and do not skip this. It is really important as I will show you.
Christ said that every jot and every tittle matters. Based upon this statement, Christ could not have ever quoted from the Septuagint with all its errors as well as being a translation from Hebrew to Greek even though it was believed to be in existence in His day.
The Zaqeph-gadol accent is the Hebrew mark for a pause in speech.
In Hebrew it reads…
“the prince (Nish), -- PAUSE – chief (Rosh) of Meschech and Tubal”
So reading the verse would go something like this when literally translated.
Vs2….set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the prince, - - PAUSE -- chief of  Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him…
Vs3…"Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the prince, - - PAUSE -- chief of Meschech and Tubal."
But Ray… Scripture reads Chief Prince, not Prince Chief.

Being from the western world we read left to right, where as Hebrew is read right to left.
When looking at Hebrew Prince Chief = Chief Prince.  Simply put, it is backwards due to the Hebrew.
When reading these verses and being presented in the proper context this makes absolute sense.
But let's take what the defenders of the Rosh = Russia paradigm and put it to the same test.
Here is what their version sounds like … " O Gog, the nish (prince)  rosh (Russia) of Meshech and Tubal.
In their version there is no pause as Zaqeph-gadol accent shows.
But even with a pause, “Prince “PAUSE” Russia of Mechech and Tubal” it just does not sound right and it makes no grammatical sense what so ever.
 I mean what is "Prince Russia of Mechech and Tubal?
Do you see what I am showing here?  When read in proper context the Rosh = Russia version kind of sounds like gibberish. Don't you agree?
In fact, their very verbiage and context does not make sense what so ever.
But what surprises me the most is that authors, teachers and scholars would rather lean on the Gnostic inspired Septuagint than stand on the original Massoretic Hebrew text.
Why are they leaning on a translation, Greek to Hebrew, and refuse to go to the source, the Hebrew .
The Jewish people were chosen to be the oracles of God's Word, is that not correct?
If that is the case then why go to some translation the comes from Egypt when you have the very best source already available, the Massoretic Hebrew text?
Folks, when scripture fits, we must submit.
As we have shown here scripture, the Massoretic Hebrew text vs. the Greek Septuagint,  does in fact fit and it is supported by the proper rules of interpretation and hermeneutics where the Septuagint does not.
So I ask, why the unwillingness to submit to what is clearly shown in scripture?
Why all the mental gymnastics?
Why the need to make something out which is not there?
But here is THE BIG QUESTION…
Why are we looking at Russia and not Turkey?
These are questions that we need to ask the authors, teachers and scholars.
